Meeting Dates and Speakers for 2024
January 22 - MGIT Aleksia Shoalts - The threat of Hemlock Woolly Adelgid and Oak Wilt have on our gardens and forests
February 26 - (6:45 special time!) Cecilia Letourneau - Hands-on Workshop : Sharpening your garden tools. (registration to participate now closed, members are still welcome to come to observe and learn)
March 25 - Annick Gionet - The Owl Foundation, Vineland, will talk about their important work, how they help birds of prey and the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned owls. They heal and release owls if possible or they house them as well. They see many of the 11 species of Owls that live in Ontario, some common and some at-risk.
April 22 - Catherine McGill - Humour in Mother Natures vast array of plants. Catherine is a member of Ontario District 6, Caledonia Horticultural Society, a Horticultural and Design judge, past professional chef and engaging public speaker on a wide range of topics.
Local Events 2024
Saturday and Sunday, April 6 & 7 Pelham Home and Garden Show at the MCC. Our club has a display booth at the show, offering a free draw, selling spring plants and other gardening related items, all arranged and staffed by Pelham Garden Club volunteers.
Saturday, April 20, Paint Party Special event for club members, featuring artist Beverly Sneath. Limited enrollment and fee per person paid in advance of event.
Saturday, April 27th, District 9 Spring AGM, hosted by Niagara Falls Society, at St. John’s Anglican Church, 8 Portage Road, Niagara Falls. The Theme is Wine and Roses.
Saturday, May 18, 8 a.m. – Noon Our Annual Plant, Bake and Lawn Sale at the Fonthill United Church, 42 Church Hill St. An amazing array of perennials, annuals, vegetables and herbs for sale along with delicious home baking and lots of treasures and finds for the gardener.
Friday to Sunday, May 31 to June 2nd Niagara Regional Exhibition, 1100 Niagara Street, Welland. Entries for competitions brought in Thursday, May 30.
Friday to Sunday, July 12th to 14th OHA Convention in Guelph.
